Inspiration

Check out who's performing at our 2009 Women's Conference!

Minister Tawanna Kelly, a preacher's kid from Augusta Georgia, foremost hearts desire is to bring joy and laughter to the body of Christ by the way of Ventriloquism. She began as a preteen teaching and giving inspirational messages through the Christian Fine Arts Ministry. Tawanna and her puppet companion “Joy” currently travels across the country sharing her unique gift while promoting the love of Christ with their innovative and inspiring messages. They have previously opened concerts for renowned gospel singers such as Vickie Winans and Beverly Crawford along with numerous local artists. Tawanna acknowledges however, that what is most important to her is God, her husband Bernard, and their two beautiful daughters, Kimberly and Moriah. Minister Kelly is living proof that God is not a respecter of persons but Faith! She is by all accounts “A Woman Inspired”!

PROJECT TANZANIA

Poetic Word Ministries is planning a return trip to Tanzania for August 2010 as the guest of Dr. Julius Mollel, a resident doctor in the village of Valeska.

We met Dr. Julius back in September of 2007 when we partnered with Volunteers in Medical Missions to provide free medical aid to two remote villages in Tanzania. Their good deed has inspired Poetic Word Ministries return to Tanzania as we witnessed firsthand the great need of the many people there.

Running water is not available and the villagers are without prominent sources of income and very limited medical resources. The faces of the women reflected the deep burdens of their impoverished conditions and the great sorrow they endure for their children.

The innocence of the many boys and girls captured our hearts as they would flock around us longing to receive any form of attention we could offer them. They have a genuine heart to know Christ which was evidenced by their protracted struggle to build a worship sanctuary which has been under construction for twelve years.

Dr. Julius and his wife, a teacher, are the only ones that hold stable jobs in their entire congregation. Their great burdens weighed very heavily on our hearts. After returning home, our desire to do more became even greater as we received numerous emails from the many friends we made, thanking us for our acts of kindness and genuine labors of love. Again, the founder of Poetic Word Ministries, Minister Tonya Jones, became a Woman Inspired.

It can be likened to Paul's experience in Acts 16:9 when he received a vision of the man of Macedonia standing and begging him, Come over to Macedonia and help us. This was confirmed when we learned through an email to Minister Jones from Dr. Julius that he had been elected by his parish to spearhead their church fund raising efforts.

We immediately decided to help and ultimately launched Project Tanzania, the vehicle God has inspired us to use to raise the funds needed to help complete the building and furnishing their church. Dr. Julius informed us of the remaining materials needed for construction which are 200 pieces of iron sheets, 200 pieces of timber, 19 steel windows and glasses, 100 bags of cements, 5 doors and painting materials.

More historical information and pictures of the church are shown in our flyer pictured below. Our ultimate goal and just reward will be to one day worship with them in their new sanctuary. To God be the Glory! Poetic Word Ministries is also planning to take our A Woman Inspired Conference abroad as we have been invited by Dr. Julius to host an inspirational conference at his home village.

Our goal is to host a seven day retreat filled with inspirational classes for the women and children consisting of free medical aid and counseling, bible study workshops, and various training sessions geared toward helping them develop their village. The conference will end with a large worship service on Sunday. Now you too can become a valuable part of our efforts as we are in need of financial support and volunteers. We aspire to have at least two medical personnel, (nurse, doctor, dentist etc), one or more ministers of children, one or more beauticians, and any lay volunteers who wish to join us in this life changing mission.

Information regarding the total cost and accommodations will be forthcoming in the nearest future as plans are being made to secure flights and reservations.

Please join us or help by making your donations to Poetic Word Ministries via our website or by mail to the address listed in our contact section. Any donations are considered as charitable contributions as we are in the process of receiving our 501-3C status. We look forward to having you partner with us in these great missions opportunities!
